Date to be Decided - We need a Registration Day / Players Meeting at the Fleming Park Clubrooms sometime SOON to plan the season, a bit of a tidy-up, and a BBQ and drinks.
We need contacts for tiling, lino, plumbing and stainless, to fix up defects for Food Premises Registration.
Top of the discussion will be what we do for a home base for the season. Assuming it rains and we start on 29th April. Our ground is buggered, and we may be able to play a couple at Whitten Oval, and whereever else in Moreland that the council can give us (Gillon VFA, Coburg City Oval or DeChene?). Or should we investigate affiliating with Marcellin for the season? and how do we do that?

More:- * Brunswick Power will move to Broadmeadows within 2 years. * We will need to expand to make us financially viable.
* The over-47s comp is starting and a 47s-side of our own looks inviting for 2008 * What happens committee-wise in the future?.
* There's Lacrosse we could ground-share with on a more formal (costsharing) basis. * There's Mon & Wed social soccer played on our ground we could talk into sharing. * What form of association do we plan on going with? Questions Questions....
* State of Ground: Because our ground is so bad, I think the council might concentrate on getting other grounds back on line first. The grass may not grow back at all till spring if it doesn't rain soon because Moreland's ground crew will be snowed under rehabilitating all the grounds, without enough tractors, staff or seed. Can we be hopeful of a home game at all in 2007?
* Info about Easter carnival in Pambula NSW.

Cookie - Training has been good with notable appearances from: Milo, Ratty, Gib, Ruby, Mick, Mad Mick (once), Kev, Ming, Norm, Greggie, Chris (lost 15 kilos), Robbie, Tiger, Simmo....looking forward to seeing a few more on the track (velodrome)../

The Poacher (Ming):- Scott McInnes who played last year at Western Devils has moved to Brunswick. He can't train Tuesdays but I introduced him to the North Brunswick blokes on Thursday and he went OK. He was saying he'd like to stay with the one club, but Sunshine is too far away now, so if we could get a few more down to the velodrome on Thursday we'd make him feel a bit more welcome

Send it down Hughie:- Weds training will suit him (and others), but that's bicycle club night at the velodrome - unfortunately we can't train Weds until it rains.

TRAINING 6pm TUESDAYS - We had a successful training at the Velodrome with 6 blokes, so we'll keep going there until the rains come again. Enter to roadblock from either end of Harrison (Clara) St or down Donald St

NEW RECORD - New recruit RUBY KAADAN has smashed Champ GARY SANDERSON's 120 Fitness score.
(60 pushups in 60 secs and 60 situps in 60 seconds)
RUBY did 65 pushups and 67 situps (in 60+60secs) for a total of 132 !

Merciless:- I got 33 and 36 for a 69 - middling for a fat bastard (without ANY preparation).
These records were both done at age 40, and at the start of preseason, and probably by very serious fitness nuts. I've tried this torture on younger blokes and the best who had been in the gym all summer got 115.

Training Venues - Friday 16th. This pic was in the Age, about Morland stopping everyone from training! This is Zebras down at the end of Glenlyon Rd. Looked at Mayer Res, Moreland Rd near Royal Northcote Golf and there were 40-50 soccer players training. Don't know if they are there Tuesdays. Might be a go but it's hard and dry.

MING:- TOO HOT to train tonight. I'm having a beer and a snoop around the Northcote grounds
Friday, 16 February 2007 01:13 PM - Host: its-wn-proxb.its.rmit.edu.au

Sumner Park, Merri Park:- Sumner is Brunswick Zebras - don't think wee'd be welcome. Over the footbridge to Merri (Baseball) is a fair distance, but some good grass in a strip near the SW corner, almost under the trees, some gumnuts to negotiate.

Ming - This is what Ol Fleming dogtrack looked like in 2005, it's 10 times worse now, but there is the slightest tinge of green in what's left, it just wont grow, and if we have some hot northerlies it will burn off completely.
Council have sent us threats about cutting off the willies of anyone who trains on Moreland grounds - so DeChene looks out for the time being. Investigating Sumner Park just over the creek, and the little ovals next to Royal Northcote Golf Course, again in Yarra or Darebin or something.

Brunswick Lawn Bowls Club:- Hey, what have you guys been up to? Some guy with bolt cutters has been asking for Willy. Seems someone is impersonating the Brunswick Magpies Bowls Club

SOCIAL COMMITEE? - Here’s an idea for a function with the wives, maybe during preseason… WHADDAYASAY?

WHADDAYASAY? 20 Smackers?:- From Grantlee O’Sullivan: “...I have come up with an idea for all the football teams in Victoria. I Manage the Comic's Lounge in North Melbourne the only 7 night a week stand up comedy venue inAustralia. I have been using a marketing system for five years and it really does work. A double pass to The Comics Lounge is worth $50 but my marketing company goes out into areas and sells them for $20. They go like hot cakes. I am willing to sell double passes to your football club for $5 this will cover my costs. Then you can on sell them for as much as you like, I would recommend maybe $25. This is not one of those scary once in a life time offers. This offer is at your disposal when ever you want to take us up on it…” He then goes on about a paintball offer, but that’s for young fellas, isn’t it? “As a bonus and at no extra cost we will also give you passes to Melbourne’s latest sensation PAINTBALL. This would be a great end of season or pre-season training camp…”

Ming - Tuesdays are going well, 6pm at DeChene - Another 8 at training and a few apologies as well.
6pm FRIDAYS at FLEMING PARK: I'm losing weight but not fast enough cos all Cookies bending over is killing my guts, so I'm instigating training on Fridays at the Clubrooms. It'll be a bit of skills, some exercises, a few laps around the seats in the grandstand (plus a small amount of well-earned elbow-bending, seeing we can't do that at DeChene) - can be all over by 7 if you want to be home for supper or go out on the town.
A chin wag with some scheming for making the season successful might be in order too.

Desperate - Dear Tech Support. 18 months ago, I upgraded to Girlfriend 1.0 from DrinkingMates 4.2, which I had used for years without any trouble. However, there are apparently conflicts between these two products and the only solution was to try and run Girlfriend 1.0 with the sound turned off. To make matters worse, Girlfriend 1.0 is incompatible with several other applications, such as LadsNightOut 3.1, Football 4.5, and Playboy 6.9.
Successive versions of GirlFriend proved no better. I tried a shareware program, Slapper 2.1, but it had many bugs and left a virus in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks.
Eventually, I tried to run Girlfriend 1.2 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the same time, only to discover that when these two systems detected each other they caused severe damage to my hardware.

Tesh Support:- We suggest you engage a new product called Fiancé 1.0. This should get around Girlfriend 1.2

Desperate:- I eventually upgraded to Fiancé 1.0, only to discover that this product soon had to be upgraded further to Wife 1.0.
While Wife 1.0 tends to use up all my available resources, it does come bundled with FreeSexPlus and Cleanhouse2006. Shortly after this upgrade, however, I found that Wife 1.0 could be very unstable and costly to run.
Any mistakes I made were automatically stored in Wife 1.0's memory and could not be deleted. They then resurfaced months later when I had forgotten about them. Wife 1.0 also has an automatic Diary, Explorer and E-mail filter, and can, without warning, launch TurboStrop and Multi-Whinge. These latter products have no Help files, and I have to try to guess what the problem is.
Additional problems are that Wife 1.0 needs updating regularly, requiring ShoeShop Browser for new attachments and Hairstyle Express which needs to be reinstalled every other week.

Tech Guru:- These things are sent to try us, but after a few years of trying to manage the different philosophies, maybe a holistic approach is the best solution.
How about games? Giving away Football 4.5 was a mistake, because that only leaves Golf and Battle Of The Bulge, both susceptable to Cholesterol and Heart system problems. Try Masters Football (Brunswick), which is highly compatable with modern versions of the Missus, due to it's Family BBQ, Girls Drinkies and Musos'n'Actors popups at the end of each game. Training is not heavyweight and you can set your own pace.
